One of the Best Family Attractions in Northern NJ

Established as a showcase for indigenous animals in 1963, the Turtleback Zoo has evolved to become a comprehensive zoo that's home to over 700 different species of animals. Situated in a scenic 20-acre park, the zoo features modern exhibits like a free-flight aviary, a reptile house, a flying fox exhibit and a 1,600 gallon ocean touch tank filled with stingrays. The zoo offers lots of fun activities, including a train, a zip line, a carousel, and a playground.

Tickets are $8-$13 per person, depending on age and season. Children under 2 enter free.

Hours -

Open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4:30pm; Sunday, 11am-5:30pm.

    The zoo is home to more than 700 different animals, from every continent except Antarctica. You'll see penguins, leopards, sea lions, kangaroo, black bears, alligators, and many more.
  • How long is the zip line at Turtle Back Zoo?

    With over 30 different obstacles, the zip line is longer than a football field and stands at 40 feet high. The junior zip line offers younger children a chance at the fun with a 10 foot high line and 15 obstacles. Pricing for the zip line and challenge course range from $12-$32 per person, depending on age and course.
